Home

Welcome to the Simsbury Soccer Club

The Simsbury Soccer Club (SSC) exists to promote player's appreciation of soccer, to develop player's skills necessary for team play, to provide equal opportunity for the development of individual players, and to accommodate every Simsbury youth who wants to play, regardless of ability level.

The SSC philosophy stresses the development of player's physical fitness and fundamental soccer skills, but equal emphasis is placed on good sportsmanship, building lasting friendships, and the sheer fun of participation.

Important Registration Information

The Simsbury Soccer Club is moving to a new website that is integrated with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association, US Youth Soccer, and US Soccer Federation websites.  Once we are fully transitioned, it will make the registration process much easier for parents and the Club’s Registrar.  It will also make it easier to create and manage teams, games, and communicate to parents and players.

Registration for Travel Tryouts is going to be the first event on the new system.  To register for Travel Tryouts please click on the Tryout button below:

(Note: you cannot register for Tryouts using the Registration tab at the top of this page)

Once you are on the new site (http://simsbury.cjsalive.org/home.php), click the "Registration" tab and then the "Register Now" button.

Everyone will have to create a new account to register their players.  The new system allows parents to upload a player picture which will be used for the Player Pass.  The system also allows parents to upload a copy of their child’s birth certificate, so the District Registrar can verify their age.  Once the player's age has been verified, the birth certificate will be deleted from the system – while on the system the birth certificate will be encrypted.  Players who have played on a Simsbury Soccer Club Travel Team have already had their age verified and do not need to upload a copy of their birth certificate.

The new system also has enhanced payment capabilities.  For example, the new system allows the Club to collect the $20.00 Travel Tryout fee and then the balance of Simsbury Soccer Club’s Tryout fee (individual team fees will be collected by each team) once a player trying out has made a team.  In addition, with the new system, the Club will only be accepting credit card and ACH/eCheck payments.

The system has a lot more functionality that will be rolled out prior to the fall season.  We are excited about the capabilities of the new system and feel it will enhance everyone’s soccer experience.  That being said, with any new system there may be a hiccup or two.  If you have trouble registering your son or daughter, please let me know so we can address the issue.  My email address is: president@simsburysoccer.org.

Sincerely,

Tom Hayden, President

Simsbury Soccer Club

New Fall Uniforms

New Fall Uniforms

Every few years, the Simsbury Soccer Club (SSC) requests proposals from local uniform vendors to supply the Club’s uniforms.  As noted in our fall Newsletter, the Club sent out a Uniform Request for Proposals (RFP) in July to four vendors (in alphabetical order: Nike, Soccer-N-Moore, TeamSports and Vincents).  The RFP was to fulfil the Clubs uniform needs beginning in the fall of 2018.  The Club evaluated the responses based on three critical areas of importance to our Club.

1) Online  ordering capability so families can order uniforms online easily versus manual collection of orders by coaches or team managers

2) Uniform pricing, brand availability, and quality

3) Incentives back to the Club in the form of additional equipment

We are happy to announce that starting with our Fall 2018 season, we will be using TeamSports as our primary uniform vendor.  For Travel programs, we have additionally selected Adidas brand uniforms in yellow and navy.  TeamSports has retail locations in Farmington, Glastonbury, and Springfield and is one of the top 20 soccer specialty retailers in the United States outfitting some 25,000 players.  TeamSports has an online retail store that is first in class in the uniform ordering business and will be connected to the SSC website for ease of ordering.  TeamSports was able to offer competitive pricing for Adidas brand uniforms for our Travel teams.

To note, our U5 Dinomites program curriculum and corresponding uniforms will continue as is with support from Xara/Soccer N Moore.  Additionally, Vincent Sports will continue to be the vendor of choice for our U6 Soccer Fundamentals jerseys.

Open Board Positions

Communications Director:  The Communications Director is responsible for keeping the Club’s Web, Facebook, and Twitter pages updated and is responsible for sending out periodic newsletters and press releases to local news organizations (e.g., a travel team winning a tournament).  The Communications Director works closely with the Board to gather relevant news items.

Other volunteer opportunities (non-Board positions):

Requires approximately 5 hours during the late summer and another 4 during early April.
