The Simsbury Soccer Club (SSC) exists to promote player's appreciation of soccer, to develop player's skills necessary for team play, to provide equal opportunity for the development of individual players, and to accommodate every Simsbury youth who wants to play, regardless of ability level.
The SSC philosophy stresses the development of player's physical fitness and fundamental soccer skills, but equal emphasis is placed on good sportsmanship, building lasting friendships, and the sheer fun of participation.

| New Fall Uniforms
Every few years, the Simsbury Soccer Club (SSC) requests proposals from local uniform vendors to supply the Club’s uniforms. As noted in our fall Newsletter, the Club sent out a Uniform Request for Proposals (RFP) in July to four vendors (in alphabetical order: Nike, Soccer-N-Moore, TeamSports and Vincents). The RFP was to fulfil the Clubs uniform needs beginning in the fall of 2018. The Club evaluated the responses based on three critical areas of importance to our Club.

1) Online ordering capability so families can order uniforms online easily versus manual collection of orders by coaches or team managers
2) Uniform pricing, brand availability, and quality
3) Incentives back to the Club in the form of additional equipment
We are happy to announce that starting with our Fall 2018 season, we will be using TeamSports as our primary uniform vendor. For Travel programs, we have additionally selected Adidas brand uniforms in yellow and navy. TeamSports has retail locations in Farmington, Glastonbury, and Springfield and is one of the top 20 soccer specialty retailers in the United States outfitting some 25,000 players. TeamSports has an online retail store that is first in class in the uniform ordering business and will be connected to the SSC website for ease of ordering. TeamSports was able to offer competitive pricing for Adidas brand uniforms for our Travel teams.
To note, our U5 Dinomites program curriculum and corresponding uniforms will continue as is with support from Xara/Soccer N Moore. Additionally, Vincent Sports will continue to be the vendor of choice for our U6 Soccer Fundamentals jerseys.
| Open Board Positions

Open Board Positions
Communications Director: The Communications Director is responsible for keeping the Club’s Web, Facebook, and Twitter pages updated and is responsible for sending out periodic newsletters and press releases to local news organizations (e.g., a travel team winning a tournament). The Communications Director works closely with the Board to gather relevant news items.
Fundraising Director: The Fundraising Director is responsible for coordinate fundraising activities for the Club, coordinating activities of fundraising volunteers, issuing periodic fundraising reports to the Board, and serving as liaison between SSC and its sponsors.
Uniform Coordinator: The Uniform Coordinator acts as the liaison between the Club and the Club’s uniform vendor(s). The Coordinator works with the vendor(s) to place a bulk order prior to each season and then works with all the teams to coordinate their team’s order. The Coordinator also helps resolve any uniform issues and answer any uniform questions that may arise over the course of the year. The Uniform Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating periodic uniform requests for proposals.
Other volunteer opportunities (non-Board positions):
Equipment Manager: The role of the Equipment Manager is to assist the Recreation and Farmington Valley Division Directors by packing and labeling equipment bags for those teams prior to the Coaches meeting that is held before the start of each season (Fall and Spring); unpack bags that are returned at the conclusion of each season; restock first aid kits; keep inventory of what is in the Club's storage shed. Requires approximately 5 hours during the late summer and another 4 during early April.
Referee Development: The role of the Referee Director is to: Act as a role model for all referees, mentor youth referees by observe games and providing feedback to the referees (both positive and areas for improvement), mentor coaches & parents regarding referee respect and abuse, and coordinating in Town referee classes with the CT State Referee Association.
