Division Director Role and Responsibilities (commit to both spring and fall)
Prior to the start of the season: Spring: March/April; Fall: July/August
Solicit volunteers for Coach and Assistant Coach during open registration through our website. This may require multiple passes.
Utilize the registration system and form team rosters via website. When available, gather evaluations done in previous season/division to form balanced teams. Keep siblings together unless specifically asked by the parent to place on separate teams. While we do not accept placement requests, use your judgment in honoring any extraordinary circumstances that do not impact the ability to put together a balanced team.
Work to ensure volunteers complete background checks and protocol for injury.
Communicate on structure of the Division’s program: number per side, length of halves, start times, and rules of games, sportsmanship, expectations on the field, dates of program start/finish, etc.
Inform coaches of Coaches meeting so that they can gather information and pick up their equipment bag prior to the start of the season.
Attend Coaches meeting (see Coach Information page for this season's date, time and location) and assist with equipment distribution.
During the season: Spring: April-June; Fall: August-November
Assist players on the first day of practice with finding their teams.
Be the point of contact for all families and Coaches if issues arise. Escalate to the Recreational Director if necessary.
Help with set up or breakdown of equipment on game day.
Work with Recreational Director to communicate changes in the schedule due to weather, sunset, other.
Distribute support materials from our trainers.
Continue correspondence with Coaches/parents.
Work with Special Events Coordinator to facilitate support for events.
Supply end of season awards to Coaches for distribution.
After the Season: Spring: June; Fall: November
Collect any trainer evaluations and forward to Recreational Director.
Collect equipment bags and bring to the shed or Recreational Director.
Share feedback and suggestions by parents should with Recreational Director and Board.
Communicate to families on success of season.
Send a thank you email to all volunteers.
We don’t have enough volunteers - We will not release team rosters until all positions are filled.
A parent contacts you to say they did not register on time - We have a late registration period after the close of regular registration. Once late registration is closed we will not accept a registration.
